RIDGEWALK

"A 3am start and temperatures of minus 5 and lower at the top of Caer Caradoc in the Shropshire Hills in Church Stretton. Despite the cold December morning the rays from the early sun enveloped me in a warmth I wasn't used to as it burned the morning mist in the land below and beyond. I guess this is one of those photographs where I need to make you appreciate the effort that's gone into capturing it, hence the time and conditions...
I was busy working out where the best shots were likely to be from when these two sheep calmly strutted by. All the more remarkable given I was listening to Michael Jackson's 'Off The Wall' album at full volume on my phone (different music for different trips... I really don't care what people think anymore). You can see where they usually walk. Little tip - sheep make great paths and you should follow them whenever you can for the easiest routes. Saves the knees, and stops you getting lost... usually. I actually took this shot handheld, which would surprise most photographers I know."
