"Layers are often a Landscape Photographer's best friend. Here we have the ultimate set of layers. A crystallised atmosphere and all the colours of winter amongst it. The air was very chilly, the ground was a blanket of crisp snow and earth below, combined with the angle the light bounced off it, generated a unique landscape that I could have spent days wandering. Some photographer's use people for scale. I try to stick with animals seeing as this is the world they get to see all day and I just admire it as I'm passing through."
